School screenings during the Festival

During the Festival, there will be two school screenings of preview films for schools and colleges. The program is in line with the Festival's editorial line: youth and learning stories. Discussions with the Festival or film team encourage debate and the emergence of critical thinking.
Tuesday June 8 and Wednesday June 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Cinéma Le Royal :
FLOW - “Le chat qui n'avait plus peur de l'eau” (The cat who was no longer afraid of water): A cat, a little individualistic and anxious about the rising waters, meets a lemur, a labrador, a capybara and a bird who, in the face of adversity, have no choice but to cooperate. A dazzling, poetic animated film about solidarity and friendship in the face of danger and the tumult of the outside world.

Maya, donne moi un titre: Maya and her dad live in two different countries. To maintain the bond with her daughter and continue telling her stories, her dad asks her every night “Maya, give me a title”. Based on this title, he creates a cartoon for her to star in.
Michel Gondry's first animated film (in cut-out paper) is a true declaration of love for cinema, comic strips and a father to his daughter. Maya, donne-moi un titre extols the merits of “handmade” and experimentation, and encourages viewers to take action/create. Through these adventures narrated by Pierre Niney, Michel Gondry brings to life a poetic and amusing journey that will have the little ones dreaming...and the grown-ups smiling.

Director - Michel Gondry
