VENTS ET MARÉES : LOVERS ROCK THE WINDS AND TIDES SCREENING: LOVERS ROCK

Winds and Tides is a new section dedicated to the exploration of societal questions and encouraging the diffusion of contemporary thought and its issues.

The collective invited this year: Les chichas de la pensée.

This collective proposes to reflect together on questions linked to identity, contemporary creation, commitment. It has already invited more than a hundred artists, writers or intellectuals to Paris, Marseille, Abidjan or Rome, including: Arthur Jafa, Alice Diop, Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, Karim Aïnouz, Raoul Peck, Meriem Bennani, Mati Diop , Mame Fatou Niang… In 2024, it will inaugurate its new cycle "Cinéma-era" at the Centre Pompidou (Paris), around contemporary filmmakers.

The guest collective, Les Chichas de la pensée, is offering an exceptional, fast-paced screening of Steve McQueen's Lovers Rock. 

Following the screening, Maboula Soumahoro, lecturer and author of the book Le Triangle et l'Hexagone, will lead an illustrated and musical discussion on the links between cinema, reggae and resistance... Join in the dance!
