There are 80,000 native Irish speakers in Ireland. 6,000 live in the North of Ireland. Three of them became a rap group called Kneecap. This is the real-life story of how this anarchic Belfast trio became the unlikely figureheads of a civil rights movement to save their mother tongue.
A totally vibrant, deeply political film about a language and a culture on the verge of disappearing. The film portrays young activists who update their fathers’ heritage and struggle against cultural domination.
The film contains strobe effects, graphic sexual content and some of the scenes may trigger the sensibilities of the audience.
